Overview
Red Hill Energy Ltd. is a leading developer of energy projects inside Mongolia, a country fast becoming internationally recognized for its uranium and coal development potential. Red Hill Energy is Canadian based (Vancouver BC); the strength of its Mongolian uranium projects caught the attention of Mega Uranium Ltd. in mid 2005 and a strategic alliance was soon formed. Red Hill operates and manages the 219,862 hectares of uranium ground under control by the alliance. The properties are held in 12 uranium licenses all located in the central and eastern portions of Mongolia where during the Cold War, the Soviet Union made numerous uranium discoveries. Several seasons of advanced surface programs, which included geophysics and extensive sampling have brought Red Hill to its current drill programs stage on several uranium properties. Drilling will test numerous uranium anomalies and conductors this season.
Red Hill Energy also holds a 100% interest in two very large, high-quality coal resource properties inside Mongolia. Red Hill continues to advance the largest of these projects to production. This project continues to generate significant third party interest from multinational coal corporations.
Chief Properties
Emeelt Uranium Project
The Emeelt property includes 6,082 hectares of uranium-bearing felsic volcanic and crystalline basement terrane located in southeastern Mongolia, about 350 kilometres from Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbataar.
Multiple areas of strong uranium clustered anomalies were discovered from gamma-spectrometer and radon surveys done earlier this year and are related to the NE-SW trending Mongolian, Ulaan Nuur Fault zone. Geophysics targets are being drill tested as to the possible source of the surface uranium which may represent leakage along faults and fractures of significant uranium accumulations at depth. A minimum 1,200-meter diamond drill program with at least 6 drill holes, each 100 to 300m in depth is now underway to test each of the promising anomaly clusters.
Other uranium properties will also be drilled this year in addition to continued advancement and expansion drilling on the company’s very advanced Mongolian coal projects.
